Videographer/ Video Editor – Pop-A-Shot (Part-time, Mostly remote)

Pop-A-Shot is a 42-year-old brand, located in Peoria, Illinois, that most people have heard of but haven’t thought of in a while. We want to revitalize and re-introduce the brand to basketball lovers everywhere.

To get there, we need a driven, fun, creative partner who can create great content!

What we’re really looking for

Our Content/Social Media team is comprised of three integrated roles:

Interaction. We spend time every day responding to DMs and comments, while also keeping our fingers on the pulse of all things basketball.

Strategy. Works at what Pop-A-Shot can do, say, and show to entertain and educate basketball enthusiasts. What specific content can we create that our audience will enjoy and engage with?

Content Creation. Ideates, shoots & edits content.

The team’s Content Creator will collaborate A LOT with other members of the team. We’ll meet regularly to discuss learnings, strategy, and brainstorm new content ideas. Once these ideas are agreed to, the Content Creator will execute the necessary photography, filming, and editing.

The majority of the Content Creator’s output will live on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

What you get to do and learn

• Create compelling videos and images that bring the Pop-A-Shot brand to life
• Get real-world experience in what it takes to grow a social media following and build brand awareness
• Collaborate with, and learn from, a marketing team with over 15 years of experience working on brands such as Wilson Basketball and Spikeball
• Manage a flexible schedule. We expect the content team to meet for one hour per week. We expect video shoots to happen 1-2x a month in the Pop-A-Shot Peoria offices. Outside of those instances you will have the flexibility to work, and edit, on a schedule that best fits your needs.
• Gain first-hand experience working in a corporate setting

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in producing multiple pieces of content. (doesn’t matter if it’s videos for a school project or engaging content for the ‘gram). We are looking for an individual with a passion for quality, attention to detail, and at least a little personality integrated into the work !!
• Technical know-how shooting and editing video
• Willingness to collaborate and learn.

Details of the job: Part time position. Remote. It is preferred that the applicant can easily commute to the Peoria office 1-2 times a month.

Paid hourly: $20.00 hourly. We expect 5-10 hours of work per week.
