Business Analyst II, Bad Actor Disincentives | Seattle, WA | Amazon

Amazon’s Bad Actor Disincentives team works to ensure that bad actors cannot profit from using our services to abuse Customers, Selling Partners or our Store.

We are looking for a creative, experienced business analyst with a working understanding of fraud, risk and inventory spaces to help us prevent bad actors from adversely impacting our ability to delight Customers.

This program will require a candidate that can root cause and identify solutions for complex and ambiguous problems. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity and has a background (or passion) for inventory management with ability to quickly grasp the analytical flow of inventory data points across Amazon’s vast network of fulfillment.

In this role, you will help identify, track and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve the Customer Experience on Amazon.com. You will own creation of detection mechanisms that are relied upon by the team, with up to SVP visibility. You will be expected to operate independently with minimal guidance and have the ability to ruthlessly prioritize competing priorities. Advanced experience with SQL, Excel and Quicksight is required.

Your primary responsibilities will be analyzing data to identify anomalies, trends, and opportunities to impact key performance metrics. You will partner with product managers, financial analysts, and engineers to deliver on your plans.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
• 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
• Experience with Excel
• Experience with SQL
• Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Machine Learning

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
