Milagro Theatre is excited to announce auditions for our Season 40 production of ¡HUELGA!.

We are seeking talented actors to fill the following roles (feel free to google the public persona in the 1960s as necessary for each role):

• Dolores: female, age 30’s-40s, must resemble Dolores Huertas in the 1960s, familiar with Spanish language

• Eagle/Ensemble: female, age 20s-30s, should resemble Gloria Steinem in 1960s, familiar with Spanish language

• Bobby Kennedy/Ensemble: male, age 30s-40s, should resemble both Richard Chavez and Robert Kennedy in the 1960s

• Cesar Chavez/Ensemble: male, age 30s-40s, should resemble Cesar Chavez in 1960s, familiar with Spanish language

¡HUELGA! is a captivating production, inspired by Teatro Campesino, that travels back in time to 1962 with Dolores Huerta to the farmworkers movement and shares her co-founding of the UFW with Cesar Chavez.

Audition Details:

• Auditions will be held in person at El Centro Milagro at 525 SE Stark St, Portland, OR 97214 or via Zoom.

• Rehearsals and performances are in-person

To schedule your audition, please include the following information:

Prepare:

• For the audition, please prepare a one to two-minute comedic monologue of your choice that showcases your acting abilities.

• Additionally, be ready to discuss your availability and any potential conflicts with the rehearsal and performance schedule.

Rehearsal and Performance Details:

• Rehearsals will begin on 12/4/2023

• Performances are scheduled to run from 1/12/2024 to 1 /27/2024.
