American Teletimer with Hollywood gaming at Dayton Raceway is hiring part-time camera operators for live broadcast horse racing. We are looking for competent Camera Operators to capture high quality video for TV broadcasting. You’ll be an integral part of our mission to share striking visuals to the world of harness racing. A camera operator has a steady hand and quick reflexes. If you’re passionate about the job and can think of ways to add creativity to your work, we’d like to meet you. Great broadcast television industry experience.

Requirements

• Reliable

• Ability to climb a 30ft tall ladder (harness provided)
• Problem solving skills
• Provide excellent communication
• High school diploma; degree in film, media or relevant field is a plus

Responsibilities

• Work with director to determine all aspects of shots
• Provide practical and creative input to scene planning
• Prepare cameras and test angles or camera movements
• Operate camera fluidly
• Capture quality footage from a fixed position
• Resolve technical or practical issues
• Properly identify horses

Skills

• Experience operating relevant equipment (cameras etc.)
• Ability to think and act quickly

• Excellent color vision and hearing

Job Information

• Scheduled racing 5 days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday shifts starting at 3:30pm
• Averaging of 5.5 hours each race day (possibly less) at a starting rate of $72.50 a shift.
• Paid weekly (Direct deposit)
• Dayton’s racing season concludes December 30th and racing will transfer to Miami Valley Raceway in Monroe, OH in January and continues through May. Qualified potential team members willing to work at both tracks all 5 days will take precedence.

Pay: $72.50 – $85.00 per day

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
