Report to: Head of Video and News INTRODUCTION TO ECANCER GLOBAL FOUNDATION The ecancer Global Foundation is a charity which was launched in 2016 with a vision to help create a world where all cancer patients receive the best possible care and treatment through effective education of the global oncology community. The foundation publishes the leading website ecancer.org which was established in 2007 by the late Professor Gordon McVie and the late Professor Umberto Veronesi, as an independent educational platform to raise the standards of cancer care globally. To support our educational aims, we run a series of events globally and partner in research projects. ecancer.org currently features thousands of hours of free educational resources from around the world, including videos, e-learning and news, as well as an open access journal. We have a team of approximately 15 employees based out of our office on King Square Avenue, Bristol, BS2 8HU. Position Overview: The purpose of the role will be to provide support for a number of online TV and news projects, on an initial 12 month contract with the potential to stay on. We require someone who is prepared to travel to Europe, the US, and occasionally further afield. While remote working/WFH is acceptable company wide, the role is based in Bristol so employees will be expected to attend the office occasionally to work, exchange equipment, and attend meetings. Hours are flexible within the range 08:30-16:30 to 10:00-18:00. There is occasional weekend work at medical conferences, which will be reimbursed with time off in lieu. The ideal candidate will be Bristol based. Main responsibilities will include: Editing videos, oversee editing of videos Film interviews and pieces to camera, oversee filming of interviews and panel discussions (both on Zoom and video camera) Oversee websites (write copy, check content, commission design) Publish content (upload news, video, conference listings) Write video descriptions Help maintain social media profiles such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube Attend conferences worldwide Book and manage camera crews worldwide Organising and archiving footage Updating databases Prioritise, plan and manage own workload and deliver to deadlines Staying up to date on social media trends, video production techniques and technology Liaise with clients Skills required: Basic video editing in Final Cut ProX Professional video camera operating experience Mac and PC literate Good English skills; attention to detail on grammar and spelling Good organisational skills Interest in multimedia Excellent attention to detail in general Good IT skills Experience of completing objectives to timescales Educated to degree level (or equivalent) Desirable skills include: Interest or some background in science/cancer/health/biology Adobe Premiere experience Lighting and sound recording experience Enjoy international travel, be prepared for travel at short notice and on weekends TV production experience; managing crew Experience with Adobe Illustrator Open to learn new skills as the role may expand After Effects knowledge / some animation experience NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
