We need YOU Where the Chemistry Happens We are seeking a professional like you, with strong interpersonal skills, who loves to negotiate and identify innovative ways to add value for BASF. You will support the North American region in procuring chemical raw materials via both producers and a robust distribution network. You will routinely engage with the associated business units, Procurement Category Managers, and suppliers to align supplier capabilities with BASF strategic priorities. You will explore creative solutions to optimize the reliable supply of raw materials to our production facilities throughout North America. As a Buyer for the Tail-spend & Distribution (TAD) team you create chemistry by… Supporting the development and implementation of TAD procurement strategies for the North American region. Managing the GPD portfolio with a majority of our US distribution network. Managing multiple local and regional categories. In alignment with category teams and business personnel, leading the sourcing process (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) for the assigned raw material portfolio. Providing relationship management for key suppliers. You will monitor performance metrics, resolve claims and/or disputes, market intelligence, and other contributing factors affecting supply availability and pricing of products procured. Supporting or leading various projects and initiatives. Successfully engaging across the business. You will collaborate with all areas of BASF (Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, Accounting, EHS, Tax, etc.) and with global colleagues representing other regional TAD teams and CoE personnel. Running large digital tenders and embracing a data-driven approach to drive results. If you have… Educational and/or professional background in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering/Operations, Sales and/or related fields. Proficiency in Excel is necessary. Experience in SAP, COUPA and/or electronic bidding platforms is a plus. Proven analytical skills necessary.
