This position provides advanced secretarial support and management assistant assignments for the Records Resource Section and its units. The section houses the Records Production Unit (RPU) and Technology & Records Compliance Unit (TRCU). This position serves as liaison to section and office management and section staff while being responsible for updating and explaining procedures and policies for the Section, for the review and interpretation of section documents, and the review and preparation of materials for training, section meetings, and management decisions. This position composes and processes correspondence, maintains schedules, creates/updates forms, spreadsheets, and databases. Additional duties include the scheduling and coordination of meetings for the managers and staff and preparing minutes from those meetings. Compiles confidential records. Provides information to law enforcement personnel and department members concerning section responsibilities. Performs section financial responsibilities. Processes time and attendance. The Michigan State Police (MSP) is a full-service policing agency with statewide jurisdiction, providing over 60 different services either directly to Michigan residents or in support of other law enforcement agencies. The MSP personnel most visible to the public are the uniform troopers whose primary responsibilities include traffic enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community engagement and service. Required Education and Experience Education Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school. Experience Four years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including one year equivalent to advanced 8-level administrative support work, or equivalent to a Secretary E8, or Legal Secretary E8. OR Four years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including two years equivalent to experienced E7-level administrative support work, or equivalent to a Secretary 7, or Legal Secretary 7. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions. Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
