Department Description

High Point University offers a full variety of club sports for current HPU students. Club sports are a great way for students to compete, stay fit and take a break from academics. We offer each student the opportunity to develop lifelong skills such as, problem solving, time management, critical thinking and many more. The club sports program has 34 offerings.

Job Description

Club Sports Supervisors will be responsible for supervising and managing games/events as well as maintaining regular communication with Club Sports office staff. As a Club Sports Supervisor, students will gain experience in time management, conflict resolution, leadership, critical thinking, public speaking, team building and problem solving. Will attend

Job Location/ Hours Required

The candidate will perform most/all job duties in (Temporary Practice Field and Vert Stadium). Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to (15-20) hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Attend practices and games for Club Sport teams. Take action shots and video to compile

Video. Will attend 2 to 4 hours per game, 2 to 4 games per week. Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Applicants should have a background in sports, ability to stand for an extended period of time, ability to perform manual labor, and ability to work nights and weekends

Desired Skills:

• Must have a minimum (2.5) overall GPA
• Current American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certifications or must obtain within thirty days of employment and familiarity with emergency procedures
• Strong work ethic
• Possess effective communication skills and organizational skills
• Experience in providing positive customer service
• Awareness of the student and Club Sport’s needs
• Obtain and maintain American Red Cross CPR, AED and First Aid certifications
