The New York Post video team is seeking an **Associate Producer/Junior Video Editor** (Tues-Sat)** to help us make existing series and compelling, shareable videos on a variety of topics from politics to weather to business to features – subjects that are our mainstay. We are seeking a smart, enthusiastic news-lover with a passion about current events of all kinds. We want to make our mark in digital video and create memorable work and new watching habits among our audience. The legacy of the great headlines conveys the attributes of our videos: bold, irreverent, judgmental, confident and clever. We want to make videos that surprise viewers. This is an opportunity to work with an iconic media brand as it experiences exponential digital growth. New York Post and Page Six videos have received more than a billion views in the past few years. Like us, you believe news doesn’t have to be boring and you appreciate the odd and unconventional stories as well as important ones. Note:** Candidates must be willing to work Saturday plus holidays, nights and big tentpole events when needed. Responsibilities Create shareable videos on a variety of topics (i.e., politics, weather, celebrity news, business, features) Work on quick-turnaround video editing projects, and on bigger evergreen videos, which you will research, write, and edit Monitor all upcoming New York Post articles in the pipeline, quickly researching what our video options are for those stories, then adding videos into those stories Be knowledgeable about what is available in our video library, as well as through wire services and social media throughout the day, so you can pitch video-led stories Monitor emails sent to the video team and respond accordingly, communicating across various departments (ex. social media) Reach out to clear video from original sources that you will find on various social media platforms The ideal candidate will have/be** : 1-2 years experience editing short form videos for digital outlets Experience working autonomously in a fast-paced newsroom environment on weekly deadlines Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Excellent research skills, including on all social media platforms A great eye for stories that are about to trend, and is able to think creatively about the best video approaches for these stories Experience with multicam editing Ability to color correct and mix audio, and select/use music to match the tone and style of the story Ability to write a script a plus Ability to work very quickly under pressure and juggle dozens of stories throughout the day Organized, resourceful, and a team player Be willing to work at least 2 weekend days per month, plus holidays, nights and big tentpole events when needed Note: NY Post adheres to a hybrid work model. **Please include a resume and a link to your editing reel.** Salary Range: $31,200 – $125,000 At The New York Post we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
