The Portland Timbers and Thorns are looking for a video editor/videographer who desires to work in soccer and has a demonstrated ability to craft compelling content. The ideal candidate is a soccer enthusiast with a talent for editing and crafting stories. A significant aspect of this role is editing and post-production – that is where your skillset shines. But in addition, expect to shoot interviews, games, and features. This is a fast-paced world, and quick turnarounds and simultaneous projects are a staple of the workflow. The ideal candidate is a multi-disciplined creator and self-starter – someone who can edit, shoot, color grade and effectively manage associated project assets. Candidates should also expect to regularly edit and deliver a wide range of projects in support of marketing, partnerships, and community and social impact. A key component of success will be effectively working with colleagues across multiple departments to understand and support their goals, often juggling multiple projects with tight time constraints. This role requires the employee to work both independently and collaboratively with the larger content team. A positive approach is essential. Equally important is the ability to receive and process feedback, and use it as a tool for creating better work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Edit and oversee projects from initial concept (or hand-off) to final delivery Ability to operate DSLR and digital cinema cameras to capture a variety events, both on and off-field Collaborate with members of the video production staff on project ideation and execution Be organized and committed to continually maintaining established workflows Commitment to ongoing organization and management of video assets Ability to project manage and ensure deadline adherence Regularly attend and shoot games and practice sessions Ability to work all home games and events Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as required Position requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor, professional sports venue Position requires working while exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb stairs Position requires employee to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds Desired skills and qualifications A working knowledge of soccer is preferrable Expert knowledge Adobe Premiere Proficiency with the wider Adobe Creative Suite Experience with DaVinci Resolve Experience with file management and organization High-level operational knowledge of DSLR and digital cinema cameras Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Willingness to digest and consider constructive feedback Ability to work productively and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, under tight deadlines Remain industry-aware regarding new technology and trends impacting the production industry Understand the nuanced difference between various social media platforms, along with the associated video strategy We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
