POSITION SUMMARY: The Videographer, under the direction of the Copy Editor, is responsible for professional level videotaping operations and editing. The position is responsible for sustainable videography, recording, searchable archive and livestreaming Board of Directors meetings. The videographer also records and uploads any other event or meeting the for company. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following) Records all meetings and posts them to the company website. Uploads Board of Directors meeting video for livestream and maintains channel. Posts meeting video to website. Archives video in an accessible system. Dubs meeting video onto digital media as requested. Maintains all equipment and ensures it is ready for use. Responsible for developing an organized video library with projects being easily understood for those in the Communications Department. Will routinely perform videotaping, video equipment set-up and tear down. Other video projects as assigned ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following) Researches current techniques and equipment in the video industry Works with other team members on video projects. All other job-related duties as assigned. CONTACTS: Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor, managers in other departments, Executives, Board of Directors, customers and outside vendor/service providers. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Position is frequently moving and lifting up to 50 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds. Physical factors include standing, walking, sitting, bending, carrying/lifting, pushing/pulling, reaching, manual handling of equipment. driving, and typing. Use of hearing, near/midrange/far vision, and depth perception are utilized daily. Working conditions include occasional exposure to weather, extreme cold, wet/humidity and air quality. Potential hazards include constant computer video equipment use, exposure to electric shock, infectious exposure due to human contact. REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.Associate’s Degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with video editing systems required. Certifications/License: Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Must comply with annual driver’s license review and insurability standards with the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have knowledge of current techniques and equipment in the video industry. Must be able to use DVR equipment, pc and standard software, video, editing software, website CMS and equipment software updating. Will be responsible for broadcasting live, videotaping meetings and archiving all video recordings. Must be able to travel to Board Meetings and other assigned locations within the Tribal Seven County Service area. Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Must maintain confidentiality. Native American preferred.
