Please include a link to a portfolio when applying. The Studio Manager/Videographer is responsible for contributing to the Video Team, Creative Team, and its projects. This individual collaborates with the creative discipline leads as well as the StrongMind curriculum team managers and leadership. The Studio Manager/Videographer must be able to work efficiently and help take proactive initiative to guide our Creative video team. The Studio Manager/Videographer should communicate effectively with leadership in various departments, provide creative solutions to video and motion graphics opportunities, and have a strong command of current trends, styles, and mediums. They must also bring a strong grasp of different professional storytelling techniques and scriptwriting experience that helps guide the team to create highly creative and collaborative work. Primary duties and responsibilities: Lead videography projects and help guide a team of video editors. Running all studio equipment and shooting video in studio and/or location settings. Lead professional studio set up and set styling. Helping the Video Editor’s edit raw video and stock video if/when needed or bring collaborative ideas to make edit’s match our quality of work. Help set up lighting and rigs and manage tear down and cleanup of sets. Manage communication and bookings for on screen talent and voice over talent. Help guide and direct on-screen talent while in studio, or on location. Maintain team process and high production quality standards. Maintain Creative team’s quality of work and high output. Take initiative to solve problems creatively and ability to share knowledge in leadership meetings. Assist in brainstorming by helping to identify the best media mix to convey pedagogical concepts. Foster attitude of customer service and collaboration with other teams and/or departments. Work within budgets and deadlines. Collaborate cross-culturally to help add videographic elements to our interactive content and to find new methods, strategies, and mediums to engage students. Work with other teams and/or departments to establish user testing standards and assist in facilitating user testing for curriculum materials. Be adaptable to a range of projects for multiple departments. Work with the Creative Manager and Project Manager’s to help guide deadlines and timelines for the video team. Report team statuses and work efficiencies to leadership. Take ownership of the studio, equipment, and maintenance. Lead with empathy, an open mind and be adaptable to a range of video needs. Specific Job Skills/Abilities: Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced production environment HD Digital Video Camera Operation Video Composition technique Sound and lighting technique Audio sourcing, production, and editing skills Adobe CS5 Production Nonlinear Video Editing Conceptualizing and brainstorming Script writing skills Experience in leading set design Experience running a studio Education/Training: Eight or more years of professional experience shooting and editing video in studio and/or location settings required.
