Production Assistant Reports to: Production Manager Location: Hybrid Company overview: Mielle is a natural haircare and beauty brand focused on providing innovative, natural products for the textured hair category and historically underserved customers. JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented production assistant to join our production team and keep our film operations running smoothly. In this position, you’ll play a keep role in the success of our productions by helping with a variety of different duties and tasks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Basic knowledge of video production equipment: should have a good understanding of the various types of cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, and audio gear used in video production. Should also be familiar with how to operate and set up equipment, as well as how to troubleshoot common issues. Knowledge of video editing software: responsible for assisting with post-production tasks, such as editing footage, color grading, and adding special effects. Must have a basic understanding of video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve is essential. Basic understanding of cinematography: should understanding of cinematography principles such as framing, composition, and camera movement. Familiarity with production schedules: must be well-organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills: must be able to communicate effectively with the production team, cast, and crew. Attention to detail: must be detail-oriented and able to catch mistakes or potential problems before they become bigger issues. They should be able to ensure that all equipment is set up correctly, and that all necessary permits and releases are in order. Strong interpersonal communication skills Excellent organization, multitasking, and time management skills EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in a film-related field General understanding of commonly used production software programs (video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve is essential).
