This position can be hybrid, with in-office time required each week. What We Need Cat Daddy Games is looking for an experienced VFX Artist to join our team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Technical Artist, has experience with the Unreal Engine, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for video games. This position reports to the Technical Art Lead and is based in Kirkland, WA. Cat Daddy offers a hybrid work option with in-office time required each week. What You Will Do Drive content within the scope outlined by the Lead Create high-quality, real-time visual effects to bring life to otherwise static art assets Implement dynamic VFX that communicate gameplay and wow our players Ensure assets are optimized for target platforms while minimizing impact on artistic integrity Work autonomously with minimal direction and the ability to self-critique Collaborate with designers, other artists, and the rest of the development team Work with our proprietary tools as well as Unreal Who We Believe Will Be a Great Fit 3+ years’ experience within the video game industry creating VFX Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of visual effect terminology and techniques Good sense of timing and weight with regard to effects Relevant 2D and 3D software experience (Photoshop, 3DS Max) Experience with the Unreal engine A passion for video games Along with your application, please submit a portfolio of professional or personal work samples. The pay range for this position in Washington at the start of employment is expected to be between $75,000 and $115,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also receive 14 paid holidays per calendar year, are eligible to earn a minimum of 15 days of vacation leave per year (subject to proration based on start date during the calendar year) and will receive 10 sick days per calendar year. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an ‘at-will position’ and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
