Jockstraps | Comedy Web Series | Los Angeles, CA

We were the guinea pigs. Our predecessors were tasked with creating short films, but our professors saw the industry changing towards television, and they wanted us to do the same. So, they gave us a challenge: create a pilot geared towards streaming services as close to industry standards as we could make it with an added emphasis on social media marketing.

The end result was “Jockstraps”, a comedy about two cross-country runners who are fed up with their sport being treated as the bottom of the totem pole. The show brings us back to the nostalgia of High School, of the cliques and of our inabilities to talk to the opposite sex. It’s light-hearted, heavy in the physical comedy, and strives to make its mark on the world of online digital content.

The idea came from the brains of Jonathon Kane and Sam Remington and branched from their own experiences of wearing the extremely short shorts of the High School cross-country runner. Taking from their memories was ideal for Jockstraps as it allowed Sam and Jonathon to fully understand what made the sport funny and how to utilize that for the script.

It was important to us that we recreate the High School Sports comedy by making something everyone could resonate with, not just the athletes. Like most people, we just want to be noticed. “Jockstraps” is the culmination of a lot of hard work from a lot of talented people and could not have been done without each and every crew member. It is something we are all proud of.

Don’t just take our word for it, check it out yourself then follow us on Facebook and Instagram at @jockstrapstv. If you saw something you liked, let us know! We would love to talk to you about it.

“Jockstraps” stars Cesar Marroquin, Charlie Hoffman, and Kelvin Blunt.
