Paid Extras for Netflix Show in Atlanta

The new show called “A Man in Full” is now in production in Georgia and needs locals from the area with some time on their hands who would love a chance to work as a paid extra on a television show set.  Please note that “A Man In Full” is filming in Atlanta and the extras casting directors are only considering folks who are local to the Atlanta area since these are non speaking background roles and travel expenses are not covered.

Netflix has teamed up with Regina King and David E. Kelley to create an upcoming “limited series” that will be an adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s 1998 novel A Man in Full. The show is currently called “A Man in Full” yet, that title may be changed down the line and is currently a working title.  Netflix has had a few very popular TV shows in the past few years which include the hit Stranger Things, which has also filmed in the Atlanta area and hired lots of Atlanta locals to work as paid extras on the Stranger Things set.

David E. Kelley, who has won 11 Emmys for his work is named as the show’s showrunner. Kelly is also named as the writer and producer for the upcoming television series. Kelly’s productions include Big Little Lies, Boston Legal, L.A. Law (from back in the day) and also projects like the Netflix shows, The Lincoln Lawyer and Anatomy of a Scandal. Regina King is an Oscar winner who has taken the directorial reigns of this project. Regina King’s credits include some popular TV shows which include Shameless, The Good Doctor, Animal Kingdom.

The show, according to the Amazon description of the book, has the following description:

Atlanta, Georgia,  a racially mixed, late-century boomtown full of fresh wealth and wily politicians. The protagonist is Charles Croker, once a college football star, now a late-middle-aged Atlanta conglomerate king whose outsize ego has at last hit up against reality. Charlie has a 29,000 acre quail-shooting plantation, a young and demanding second wife, and a half-empty office complex with a staggering load of debt.

Meanwhile, Conrad Hensley, idealistic young father of two, is laid off from his job at the Croker Global Foods warehouse near Oakland and finds himself spiraling into the lower depths of the American legal system.

And back in Atlanta, when star Georgia Tech running back Fareek “the Canon” Fanon, a homegrown product of the city’s slums, is accused of date-raping the daughter of a pillar of the white establishment, upscale black lawyer Roger White II is asked to represent Fanon and help keep the city’s delicate racial balance from blowing sky-high.

The project has some big names attached to it which seem to include Jeff Daniels and Diane Lane as well.
