ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful applicant will be supporting our Head of Development. We are seeking a candidate with a strong passion and knowledge of film, a clear focus on creative development, and the right team-oriented approach. The candidate must want to learn, be incredibly organized, and detail oriented with strong creative and commercial instincts.

Requirements

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support Head of Development by preparing for and participating in all meetings
  • Contribute to internal development by giving detailed notes and acting as a strategic resource
  • Read delegated project submissions and provide constructive and creative feedback on the viability of the project
  • Maintain internal grids including but not limited to director/writer/cast lists, project submissions, purchase orders, meetings agendas and more
  • Generate writers and directors lists and other talent associated for potential motion picture projects
  • Act as a resource in tracking the various obligations in the development department to prioritize areas of focus and ensure productive workflow
  • Receive incoming calls and address general inquiries
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with the primary agents, managers, producers, distributors, etc.
  • Keep an up to date knowledge of industry and marketplace trends
  • Track material in the marketplace and other helpful information circulating in the industry
  • Maintain a library of important project and studio documents
  • Liaise with appropriate colleagues across production, BA, sales, marketing, post, and finance to orchestrate efficient communication internally

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-year content production industry experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Computer skills with Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to quickly learn new software tools
  • A proven ability to work in a team, but also to be self-directed and take initiative to accomplish personal goals
  • Exceptional attention to detail to maintain credibility and effective working relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
