Assistant Editor Vancouver

Champlain Media is one of the most prolific independent producers of scripted programming for the Canadian, US and international markets. The current slate of TV movies includes top-rating Christmas movies, crime thrillers and romantic movies. The Vancouver office is rapidly growing as is the content output slated for 2022.

Champlain Media West is looking for three Assistant Editors to join our post -production team in our Vancouver office.

Requirements

Role & Responsibilities

•  sorting and organizing ‘binning’ footage for editors

•  sending and tracking dailies and assemblies as needed (film traffic)

•  conforming sequences, preparing, and sending deliverables to vendors for online/colour timing, sound mix, music, etc.

•  organizing and tracking stock footage, music and SFX

•  ability to create deliverable VFX an asset

•  communication with post supervisor and editors in regard to technical issues

•  various project-specific support tasks which may include drafting show timings and cue sheets, QCing screeners, preparing/exporting show clips, and more.

May require overnight shifts

Qualifications

•  good communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

•  Candidates must have post-secondary accreditation in film or TV or equivalent work experience in post-production

•  Candidates must have post-secondary accreditation in film or TV or equivalent work experience in post-production

•  Proficiency in AVID Media Composer, Davinci Resolve, Excel, Word, and Outlook is required

• Proficiency on Mac and PC platforms is required

• Applicants must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment
