Avid Assistant Editor
Award-winning production company, Efran Films Canada is looking for an Avid Assistant Editor as an integral part of the Post Production Editorial pipeline. The ideal candidate will be able to handle challenging situations tactfully, analyze issues effectively, take direction from senior staff across various departments, and be able to accommodate various work styles and personalities. Work from home/ working in our office will be discussed in the interview.
Requirements include but are not limited to:
– Setup and management of Avid projects on Mac IOS-based Media Composter and Symphony systems
– Importing shots and archival materials using a file-based workflow for use in assembling shows
– Export sequences through various stages of the post-production pipeline to multiple QuickTimes formats (must review Network deliverables guide)
– Import and cut in scene updates
– Performing media management of workspaces and basic maintenance such as delating precomputes, organizing media, overseeing inventory of hard drives
– Assemble and update show-assets – building our internal music library and GFX assets folder
Qualifications:
– Very Organized and capable of multi-tasking as they will be receiving requests from multiple parties, often simultaneously
– Should have a good working knowledge of cloud-based platforms such as: Frame.io, DropBox, WeTransfer, and Vimeo
– Must be independent, self-starter who can also work well within a team environment
– Comfortable and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment as well as operate with a sense of urgency
– Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
– Flexible with their hours, do not mind working evening shifts, will be discussed in the interview and the ability to adjust based on the need of the Assistant Editor
– Will need to have a basic understanding of common HD and UHD video codecs
– Knowledge of video post-production is preferred
– Familiarity with Non-Linear editing software is preferred
– Experience with Avid Media Composer/ Symphony is preferred.
– 1-2 years of TV Production workflow experience is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
