Synopsis

This dark comedic and self-discovery short film called “That’s The Spot” follows a sheltered woman named, Skyler who has been in a long-term healthy relationship with her boyfriend David but she is just telling herself that. They have an interesting sex life. In other words, she can never finish. David’s fascination with wearing animal costumes doesn’t satisfy her as they get it on. Her best friend introduces her to self-pleasure and tells her to try it. Skyler enjoys it and tries to incorporate it into her sex life in hopes that it could show that the spark is still there. However, the only thing it showed is how much he doesn’t value what she wants and ends up leaving him.

Character Breakdown

Skyler (20s)

Skyler is a shy and sheltered woman who is in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend, David. They have a good relationship, however, Skyler doesn’t feel sexually satisfied. David’s kinks creep her out to the point she can’t finish. Not knowing what her body wants, her best friend, Jen introduces her to vibrators and self-pleasure, something Skyler was unfamiliar with or shied away from doing. Skyler decides to try it out and loves it! Wanting to spice things up in the bedroom for her sake, Skyler adds the sex toy. However, this causes tension in the relationship and Skyler realizes that David isn’t willing to put aside his ego in order for her to enjoy herself.
