Job Title: Full-time Video Editor

Work Site: Richmond, Vancouver, Canada

Start Date: As soon as possible

Hours: Five days a week, eight hours per day, from 09:30am-18:30pm

Bodhi Tree Production Ltd.is a multimedia company that produces and distributes Grandmaster JinBodhi’s videos and audio serials in order to spread compassion and teach meditation. We are seeking a creative, reliable, and passionate video editor to join our creative team. An ideal candidate will have an approachable and easygoing demeanor, as the position involves frequent communication with the video producers, supervisors, and digital artists. We are looking for more than just technical ability, someone who is a motivated individual, a self-starter, willing to adapt, learn new skills in response to changing circumstances and take on board new ideas and concepts. Our video content is mainly about health and meditation, Asian culture, Eastern Philosophy, Buddhist studies, and related topics etc. In addition, the position requires an understanding of video production workflows to creatively solve challenges. Primary Responsibilities:

• Work with our video lead to understand project scope and objectives
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to share perspectives and ideas
• Assemble footage, applying artistic editing techniques
• Create broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the production director.

Additional tasks may include:

• Participating in filming
• Overseeing the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing
• Experimenting with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements
• Writing script/voiceover
• Video copywriting

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

· Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Video Production, Film, Broadcasting, or relevant field preferred

· At least one (1) year’s extensive knowledge and experience in entire video production process including pre-production, scripting, storyboarding, production, and post-production

· Experience in Photography/ Videography (preferred)

Language:

· Proficiency in English and Mandarin

Knowledge & Abilities

· Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects

· Highly skilled in motion graphic design preferred

· Physical ability to perform the duties of the position

· A proven self-starter with great attention to detail

· Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a range of individuals as needed in the creation of projects

· Strong time management skills

· Be flexible and solution oriented

· Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects and handle tight deadlines and pressure

· Positive attitude and ability to provide and receive constructive criticism

· Committed independent and responsible worker

· Willing to accept and provide direction

· Have a passion to learn new software, methods, and workflows

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Bodhi Tree Production Ltd. must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
