ABOUT DHAR MANN STUDIOS:

BIG PICTURE:
We are searching for a full-time Director, Shooter all-in-one to help us create short cinematic viral videos! We have an awesome team of screenwriters and producers so this role would require performing all the technical filming aspects including pre-production, lighting, sound, shooting, directing and editing. A big part of our success formula is being able to turn around high quality videos quickly so this position requires a multi-talented, self-motivated and resourceful individual that can wear many hats and turn around work super fast. This position often requires working long hours including nights and weekends. Since we are a mission-led company and all of the content we create inspires people, the right candidate will find the long hours to be exciting and highly satisfying!

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:

  • Giving creative feedback to scripts in pre-production to help streamline productions while bringing the vision of the script to life in an emotionally moving way
  • Assisting with staging, set preparation, setting up, operating cameras and other equipment
  • Performing all the technical aspects of filming including camera, sound and lighting
  • Managing all the equipment and recommending new equipment to enhance production value
  • Shooting in a creative way to help build emotion, increase tension and deliver greater payoff of the message for the audience
  • Directing actors on set to deliver their best performances and carry out the necessary emotion required while also keeping the production on time
  • Managing many moving pieces in a high pressure environment with the calmness of a seasoned professional
  • Helping to select and insert music, dialogue and sound effects, using editing equipment
  • Turning around quick but high quality edits to ensure the deadline of completing 2 cinematic shorts are completed per week

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • 3 Years experience developing short form video content utilizing actors and various locations
  • Background in digital media, cinematography, film studies or related field
  • Moderate level experience with editing narrative work. (personal or professional)
  • Experience in the Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, etc.
  • Demonstrated video editing ability with a strong portfolio
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment on a wide variety of projects
  • Ability to learn quickly and is a team player
  • Skilled in handling quick output without losing quality
  • High level experience with editing on a computer using Premiere Pro
  • Moderate level experience with After Effects and color-correcting/grading with DaVinci Resolve
  • Experience with Adobe Audition, and working with audio files to get acceptable audio

WHO OVERSEES YOU:
The Director, Shooter reports directly to the Production Junior Manager

WHO YOU OVERSEE:
Currently, the Director, Shooter has no personnel reporting directly to him or her

WHERE IT ALL GOES DOWN:
All things creative take place at our BRAND NEW studio in Burbank, CA!

WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS:
This is a full-time exempt employee role, the hours are somewhat flexible but will be discussed.

We have a 3 month ‘Discovery Period’ in place that allows us to get to know each new hire better and assess their skill set. Management-level roles will be part of a different Discovery Period for each step of the ladder (but again this does not affect your pay or compensation package).
