Casting SOUTH ASIAN’S for a grant-funded short film about intergenerational cycles of trauma. Great team with multiple awards under their belt (Tiff-Netflix Talent Accelerator, Telefilm Talent To Watch recipients, etc) Filming in the GTA in early December. The film, “There Are No Children Here,” centres around the character Saima. After experiencing a traumatic event at a family wedding, Saima seeks guidance from the women in her life only to realize that they are unable to give her the support she needs. Theme: The film is an exploration if intergenerational cycles of trauma in a seemingly normal South Asian family, and how those cycles will continue to manifest in future generations until someone actively chooses to break them. NOTE: This film will deal with the theme of sexual assault.
