Full Time Camera Assistant in LA

Summary
The ideal candidate will have experience in assisting camera operators in studio settings. Must possess basic knowledge of sound, film language techniques and professional experience as a camera assistant.

• Give essential support to the other members of the camera department.
• Work with camera operators or camera supervisors, helping with the photography of a TV program in any way necessary.
• Labelling tape and materials as they’re used.
• Operate a second camera when needed on a shoot.
• Help unload and set up the equipment.
• Make sure camera batteries are charged, cards are ready, monitors working and have any other camera accessories like lenses or filters ready for the camera operator.
• Help provide basic camera maintenance.
• Have clear communication with camera operator.
• Help with other duties on set when floor manager requests help.
• Manage camera cables behind the jib to ensure that the cable does not get in the way during camera moves

• Minimum 1 year experience working with TV production sets, preferably in Hispanic television.
• Bilingual: English/Spanish required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Familiarity with television control rooms, studios and news and non-news productions.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Must be flexible and able to deal with unexpected changes calmly.
• Follows directions well.
• Basic knowledge and experience with broadcast production equipment, techniques and language and demonstrates proficiency in use of equipment, techniques and language.

• Must be willing to work in Burbank, CA.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and insurance.
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background investigation
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to work standing up for long periods of time
