Media Manager at Production Agency

Role: Facilitate the flow of media while managing storage constraints and addressing client needs in cooperation with the editorial and graphics teams. Execute and track movement/transcoding of media from RAW to editorial environment to archive. Manage storage servers (NEXIS and Nearline).

Skills: 

• Thorough knowledge of Avid and Avid media storage workflows.
• Thorough knowledge of Davinci Resolve transcoding capabilities.
• Thorough knowledge of video/audio formats, codecs, etc.
• Ability to maintain organizational conventions over the course of a long-term project. Ability to manage a broad range of active projects at varying stages of production/post-production.
• Effective communicator and able to coordinate in fast-paced situations with supervisors, producers, editors, AEs and department heads.
• Ability to maintain tracker documents, keep them up to date and know when to consult which one for pertinent info.
• Ability to work on the fly and locate media from archived projects quickly and prepare for editorial work or integration into active projects.
• Ability to foresee idiosyncrasies within projects and adjust workflow accordingly.

Tasks: 

• Receive footage from the field and backup/transcode/ingest into Avid.
• Maintain backups of all avid projects and associated Media and Assets. Adjust/create/remove NEXIS and Nearline workspace partitions as needed.
• Maintain organization of project assets including transcripts, outputs, acquired media, music/sfx, concept art, and so on.
• Maintain logs of drives checked out to editors and AEs and also drives sent to clients and shooters.
• Perform support on AE tasks such as multi-grouping, pulls, interview gathering/export for transcription, syncing and building features.
• Upkeep all logs.
• Perform timely archival and LTO creation for finished projects. Retrieve media from vault/archives.
