BIG PICTURE:
We are searching for a dedicated and team oriented Production Junior Manager to join our ever growing team. This individual will oversee the production staff, communicate regularly with the Senior Production Manager, and resolve any challenges and/or issues with clear proposed solutions. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, extensive hands-on experience providing mentorship to various production staff, excellent budgeting and time management with complex schedules, and in-depth knowledge of various film industry equipment and set protocols. This position often requires working long hours including nights and weekends, the Production Junior Manager will be skilled at developing thoughtful and meaningful initiatives to elevate crew morale and to grow the team dynamic. Ultimately, this individual will be skilled at establishing a culture and environment where the crew is always empowered to do their best work while handling many moving pieces. HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:

• Creating thorough processes implementing industry best practices to ensure the production crews are always supported and led by example
• Managing the current and anticipating the future needs of production (regarding equipment) such as lights, cameras, lenses, accessories, etc.
• Running production meetings to ensure clear communication, acknowledging team accomplishments, and discussing challenges or changes to be made
• Ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly department workloads are handled timely, accurately and efficiently based on priority
• Collaborating with the pre-production, production, and post-production teams to ensure all are on schedule and all technical requirements are met on each production
• Working closely with our Senior Production Manager and Studio Teachers to ensure compliance with State of California health, safety, and ethics mandates within the entertainment industry; including registering for all necessary film permits
• Providing feedback and solutions on production risks that can impact safety, budget, and deadlines

WHAT YOU HAVE:

• 4+ years of hands on experience working as a Production Manager within the film industry
• Thorough understanding of Pre-Production, Production, and Post Production workflows
• In depth knowledge of lighting, sound, camera, DIT, and electric departments
• Ability to handle a fast-paced environment, simultaneously supporting several projects in various phases of production from pre-production to post production
• Well versed in health and safety regulations, insurance, production contracts, and labor laws
• Outstanding leadership and team building experience
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – to deliver accurate information in a expedited, courteous, concise and professional manner
• Willing to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends) and/or overtime to meet deadlines

WHO OVERSEES YOU:
The Production Junior Manager will report directly to the Production Senior Manager.

WHO YOU OVERSEE:
The Production Junior Manager oversees the Production team.

WHERE IT ALL GOES DOWN:
All the action takes place at our BRAND NEW studio in Burbank, CA!

WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS:
This is a full-time role that will require at times long hours, schedule flexibility will be discussed during the interview.

We have a 3 month ‘Discovery Period’ in place that allows us to get to know each new hire better and assess their skill set. Management-level roles will be part of a different Discovery Period for each step of the ladder (but again this does not affect your pay or compensation package).
