We are currently seeking a Video Editor, based in our Vancouver office, who is driven, passionate, focused, organized, resourceful and tech savvy. He/she will work with our Professional Services team to foster important relationships with our top partners. Existing professional services partners include Sony Pictures, NBA and Univision. We are looking for someone with a passion for films across various genres specifically candidates with interest in combat sports and experts in the film space. Our ideal candidate works well in both collaborative and independent creative environments. You are experienced in working within editorial environments and have a great understanding of what is needed to edit content optimized for channels on social platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Responsibilities
- Develop high quality video content for the YouTube channels of our enterprise clients
- Collaborate with other members of the team to clarify visual requirements, editing styles, etc.
- Select, download and prepare necessary footage for video and audio editing
- Create and organize the workflow between applications (Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Media Encoder, etc.) to generate the results our partners desire
- Be social media savvy and understand the different formats required for all social media platforms.
- Assemble and edit videos to achieve continuity, coherence, story flow and the desired emotional impact within the time specifications of the final piece
- Prepare, edit and upload digital images, GIFs, Instagram Reels, Stories, TikTok, YouTube Shorts.
- Upload the final videos to our partner’s YouTube channels, including relevant video descriptions and metadata
- Maintain communication by gathering feedback and adjusting videos as necessary throughout the entire post production process directly with the team members and clients
- Maintain an organized system of managing assets to be re-used in the future, and make backups of necessary footage to the server and/or externals regularly
- Support channel development and rights management requirements for clients as required from time to time
- Additional reasonable duties as required by the company from time to time
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience as a video editor
- Expertise with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop & Illustrator
- Strong interest in digital media, broadcast media, sports & current events
- Knowledge of mainstream media brands (TV & Film)
- Strong execution and collaboration skills
- Portfolio of work required
- Proactive and solutions-oriented with the ability to work autonomously and with a team to drive excellent results
- Proven prioritization and time management skills with the ability to management multiple projects with tight deadlines while paying strict attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
