We are looking for a talented and experienced Director of Photography to lead the team at our studio at Suite 5 – 211, 555 Brooksbank Avenue, North Vancouver, BC V7J 3S5 to meet the growing demand and expand our business. This is a permanent, full-time position for $32 per hour and 40 hours per week with a 4% vacation pay.

In this role, you will coordinate and direct the photography of motion pictures, supervise camera operators and other crews and determine lighting, lenses, camera angles, backgrounds and other elements to achieve desired visual effect.

You will interpret scripts and direct the mise-en-scène; select and direct the actors, extras and technical crew; advise the cast and crew on the interpretation and delivery of the performance; direct rehearsals, filming of motion pictures; and confer with crew and specialists throughout production and post-production to achieve desired presentation.

The Director of Photography needs to be someone who can plan, budget, organize and control the various stages and scheduling involved in the production of motion pictures; engage directors and other production personnel and supervise all technical personnel, and determine the treatment, scope and scheduling of production; maintain production archives, negotiate royalties, and may plan and control the budget pertaining to a particular production.

In addition to these capabilities, the ideal Director of Photography has a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and multiple years of hands-on experience with commercial projects in the industry, a working knowledge of major brand camera operations, and a strong comfort with scripting and the ability to use Adobe software in post-production.

Since many of our clients work on projects in Punjabi and Hindi, either language is an asset. The successful candidate should be willing to travel internationally as some projects take place outside Canada. If you are interested in joining our creative team, please email your resume and portfolio to SanctuaryPictures11@gmail.com. Please do not make phone calls or in person enquiries.
