Video Editor

Full Time – Arcana Studio – Burnaby

Arcana Studio is looking for an experienced Video Editor to join our talented team of artists at our award winning animation studio located in Burnaby, BC.

Your role as Video Editor is essential for the creation and completion of our productions. You will be responsible for organizing, arranging, and cutting together edits of our animated productions. As a Video Editor, you will be working closely with the Director and creative team to ensure the flow and continuity of the animation.

Responsibilities:

• Providing/Creating project timelines for the Director & Production Manager to review
• Importing, arranging, and cutting sequences
• Maintaining sequence edits and inserting shots into the project timeline
• Working closely with animators and production team to ensure quality
• Ensuring video and audio matches the finished timeline
• Quality control of production with continuity, sync, and animation/rendering errors
• Attending meetings with the Director and production team to review and improve edits
• Preparing multiple exports/deliveries and making sure they follow the output requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelors/Diploma in fine arts or other equivalent studies
• 2 years experience in video editing
• Proficient knowledge of DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro
• Strong creative and technical editorial skills
• Good sense of storytelling and pacing
• Knowledge of frame rates, different codecs, and file delivery
• Organized and have great time management to effectively meet deadlines

Salary: From $42,000.00 per year
