Director of Photography

Spotted Fawn Productions is an independent and Indigenous-led stop motion animation studio in Vancouver, BC., seeking extremely innovative thinkers who have a superfluity of skills and abilities related to the multifaceted medium of stop-motion animation.

We are seeking an experienced Director of Photography for a part-time, contract position beginning in mid July to roughly February 2021.

**COVID-19 Note : We are reopening our studio after 3 months of closure. We will be allowing just 4 people in the whole space: 2 Fabricators, Animator and DOP. We are very cautious around the protocols and looking for people who are equally serious about it.

The ideal candidate must have:

-Experience in live action/stop motion film lighting/grip/camera departments, or similar experience with an emphasis on miniatures and/or scale models;

-Good knowledge of a wide variety of lighting/gripping techniques and gear (Kino-flos, Arri 1Ks/2Ks, wall-o-lights, Canon Cameras, DitoGear Moco);

As part of the Camera/ Animation team you will:

-Work with a stop-motion animator, prep (lighting) sets for them and set up every new frame;

-Work closely with the director (Online- Due to Covid-19), Create animatics before starting a new scene to determine shots;

-Offload and back up the footage.
