WLUC-TV6 Creative Services/Marketing department is looking to fill an open position for a video producer to create effective, quality television commercials for station clients and station promotions. Ideal candidates will have experience with video production and demonstrate an ability to develop creative concepts, write compelling scripts, shoot video, light scenes, record sound, create graphics, edit video, narrate, and complete assigned projects with little direct supervision.

Experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop is preferred. Applicable experience with non-linear video or graphic editing software will be considered.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and foster ongoing positive professional relationships with TV6/FOX UP clients and the general public.
  • Develop creative ideas for the production of commercials for TV6/FOX UP clients and promotions for TV6/FOX UP.
  • Communicate effectively with TV6/FOX UP staff and clients to obtain information needed to create effective commercials and promotions.
  • Develop creative ideas for the production of commercials for TV6/FOX UP clients and promotions for TV6/FOX UP.
  • Write scripts, Produce/Direct field and studio commercial/promotions productions, light scenes, shoot video, create graphics, narrate (as needed), and edit footage into completed commercials/promotions.
  • Follow up to assure commercial/promotions meet the approval of all concerned.
  • Be aware of rules and regulations regarding commercial content.
  • Store commercials in Creative Service/Promotions Library and provide them to other media outlets as needed.
  • Maintain the coop information and copy as needed by Accounting and the client.
  • On an ongoing basis, contribute ideas that will allow us to meet and exceed the goals established for the department and the station.
  • Develop creative ideas for clients on a speculative basis.
  • Use and maintain equipment in a proper manner. a. Check equipment before leaving the building for the shoot. b. Report any and all equipment problems to the Engineering Department. c. Keep work area neat.
  • As time allows, research and develop new skills and knowledge to improve the quality of our commercial production.
  • Will always present self in a professional manner, including clean and appropriate dress
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Creative Services/Marketing Manager.
