Position : Video Editor & Motion Graphic Designer (YouTube Channel Focused)

Location : Remote ( Latam (especially the Yucatán Peninsula) and South Africa )

Contract : Independent Contractor

Schedule : Full-Time, Monday-Friday, PST

About the Role :

A creative and conceptual Video Editor & Motion Graphics Designer is needed to support a growing YouTube channel and its broader short-form content strategy. The ideal candidate thrives on producing engaging, scroll-stopping content for platforms like YouTube, Instagram Reels, and TikTok.

The editing process follows a 3-phase approach :

Timeline Edits – Clean, fast cuts removing filler, false starts, and pauses

Creative Edit – Infuse storytelling, humor, pacing, zooms, and dynamic touches

Motion Graphics Polish – Use tools like After Effects to enhance with kinetic text, transitions, and visual emphasis

This role requires a strong eye for storytelling, timing, and platform-specific trends.

Key Responsibilities :

Edit 1–2 long-form YouTube videos weekly from raw footage to final export

Repurpose long-form content into short-form clips for social media (Reels, Shorts, TikTok)

Create custom motion graphics (text animation, callouts, transitions, etc.)

Craft high-retention videos with strong hooks in the first 1–3 seconds

Work closely with the creative team to shape stories and define visual direction

Stay current on trending formats and editing techniques across video platforms

Ensure delivery of polished content optimized for viewer retention and platform performance

Qualifications & Skills :

A portfolio showcasing strong YouTube-first and short-form content

Proficient in Premiere Pro and After Effects (or similar motion graphics tools)

Understanding of platform algorithms and what drives engagement

Great sense of pacing, rhythm, and storytelling flow

Creativity to pitch hooks, transitions, and content ideas

Able to follow a structured workflow while contributing original ideas

Bonus skills : Audio editing, color grading, or meme-style editing
