Are you looking for your next (or first!) big gig and are passionate about bringing your local community important news stories? Our team energetically tracks down stories, and attends news events for coverage on television and the web! If you’re an enthusiastic and passionate Reporter ready to diversify your skills and dive into a new and fulfilling experience, this opportunity is for you!The Peace Country is located in the Northeast region of B.C. and is a vibrant and growing area, which offers world class fishing in our many lakes and rivers, along with skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, and so much more. From wide-open prairie, to densely forested mountains, the Peace Country offers something for everyone!Key ResponsibilitiesWith the support of the News Director, you will:Immerse yourself in our community – develop community contacts, regularly check in with police, fire and ambulance, etc.Attend news events, chase stories and follow up on files.Attend municipal government, school district and regional district meetings regularly.Edit and produce stories for television, radio and the web on a daily basis.Collaborate as a team to brainstorm riveting story ideas and news coverage plans.Expand your skills by reading news, weather, and sports on Radio and on occasion, take on the opportunity to backfill the anchor chair!Other duties as assigned.Critical QualificationsMust be comfortable in front of the camera with a professional presence and be ready to dive into live TV! Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a mature and professional manner.The ability to work as part of a team and work with minimal supervision at times.Degree or Diploma from a recognized Broadcast/Journalism Program or equivalent experienceExperience and demonstrated ability to operate ENG camera and editing equipmentKnowledge of Burli and Final Cut or similar programs, considered an asset.Preferred 1 ? 3 years’ experience in a similar or related position.A full and unrestricted Class 5 drivers’ licence with a clean drivers’ abstract is required#EmployeeReferralProgramAdequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. Additional Information:Position Type: Media – Talent Job Status: Regular – Full Time Job Location: Canada : British Columbia : Dawson Creek Work Arrangement: Full-time in office (meaning that you will be required to perform your work on-site)Application Deadline: 06/09/2025 For work arrangements that are ‘Hybrid’, successful candidates must be based in Canada and report to a set Bell office for a minimum
