_MLTC was created by nine First Nations located in north-west Saskatchewan who have constitutionally recognized aboriginal rights and Treaty Rights under Treaties #6, #8 and #10. The primary purpose of MLTC is to serve those First Nations in their aspirations for cultural, economic and political autonomy. As a private sector employer engaged primarily in promoting and serving the interests of the member First Nations, MLTC asserts its right to provide preferential treatment to First Nations people, giving them priority in decisions on employment matters such as hiring, and this can extend to measures such as opening competitions only to First Nations people. _· _This competition is open to all applicants; and _· _Preference will be given to First Nation or other Indigenous applicants who possess the qualifications, knowledge and skills to meet the minimum suitability requirements as stated for the position_MLTC Program Services Department is seeking a dynamic, motivated individual to fill the full-time, term position of Governance Project Manager. This term ends March 31, 2024 and may be extended pending funding arrangements and program needs.The Governance Project Manager supervises and ensures the coordination of work of the project staff and contractors to ensure effective, efficient and timely completion of projects and will use management principles and methods in planning, defining, developing and conducting related lands & resources and justice governance projects.Duties (include but not limited to):· Overseeing the development or, and chairing & monitoring projects, including the collection, examination, evaluation and compilation of consultation data & research.· Developing and maintaining communication channels with First Nations leadership, Negotiations Team members, and internal personnel to ensure that work flows smoothly as well as providing advisory services.· Provide analysis on new and/or revisions to current work plans and policies that relate to the promotion, enhancement and implementation of the MLTC Governance files or related initiatives.· Prepare comprehensive reports which outline and interpret the work being conducted and provide recommendations for proceeding with implementation.· Design and assist in the compilation of departmental reports, publications, charts, forecasts, agreements, draft policies, etc.· Other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.Qualifications:_Minimum:_· Post-secondary education in the political sciences, education, public administration or other relevant discipline.· Three to five years of management experience, preferably in a First Nations Organization._Preferred:_· Degree in the political sciences, education, public administration or other relevant discipline· Five or more years of work experience in an area related to First Nations governance, administration and/or communications.· Experience in working with the federal and provincial governments as well as other public bodies and institutions is considered an asset._Other:_· Thorough understanding of the concepts of good governance and organizational effectiveness, and commitment to the growth and development of First Nations.· Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to develop effective working relationships with First Nation staff, administration, community members and external partners.· Ability to analyze statistical data and generate reports with excellent organizational/ interpretation/presentation skills for interpreting and presenting information.· Intermediate to advanced computer skills, quality reporting and extensive writing skills required and must be proficient with spreadsheets· Ability to speak either Cree or Dene is a definite asset.· Possession of a valid driver?s license and able and willing to travel extensively.*Interested applicants are invited to submit*: A letter of application, resume stating qualifications, related
