Pay Range:$110.00 Daily Rate

Position Summary:

Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Resident Camp Director, the Photographer/Videographer is responsible for capturing magical moments with campers and staff via photography and video and uploading to the website and other platforms.

Essential Functions:

• Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
• Be an appropriate role model for all campers
• Guide the campers character development and facilitate friendship forging in their tribe
• Participate in camp family programs
• Communicate inventory of supplies and materials needed to Camp Directors
• Assist in development of slide shows, taking photographs and video, and all projects related assigned by Camp Directors
• Responsible for updating daily photos of camp programs and activities to website and social media
• Maintain correspondence home to parents of campers in a timely manner
• Serve as cabin counselor
• Ensure the safety of all youth and guest at all times while meeting the individual needs of the participants in a fun environment
• Know, adhere to, and enforce all YMCA rules, policies and emergency procedures
• Follow all rules and safety regulations as set forth by the center
• Ensures that each guest and client has a pleasant experience and their goals and purpose was adequately met
• Maintain a positive working relationship with other staff
• Be alert to program safety factors and potential hazards; prevent accidents and minimize or eliminate hazardous situations; report any problems or hazards to the Resident Camp Director or Executive Director

• Ability to work on a team and willingness to work outdoors
• Ability to understand the needs of participants and to place these needs ahead of his/her own
• Ability to think in the abstract, solve problems, make decisions, instruct, evaluate, lead others
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Minimum 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One year experience with photography/videography and equipment preferred
• Knowledge of PhotoShop or similar programs preferred

Certifications Required:

• Before start of 1st shift: New Hire Orientation Certification
• Within two weeks of hire or before 1st shift with children (whichever comes first): CPR/First Aid/AED, Camp Staff Training Orientation
