The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of Hepburn Engineering?s committed Mining hoist or Replenishment at Sea projects. On a daily basis, you will collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, direct cross-functional engineering and purchasing team members, and work to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications. You may also be engaged to provide inputs for new sales campaigns._*What you will do: *_* Be the prime, customer facing focal during the execution phase of Hepburn?s capital projects.* Oversee purchasing execution, from contract signature to end of warranty.* Develop realistic project plans that are aligned with our contractual commitments and customer delivery requirements.* Communicate directly with customers and suppliers, leading meetings, sharing regular project updates and managing delivery challenges.* Drive internal teams to ensure that engineering deliverables are completed on time, within budget and to specification.* Collaborate with cross-functional engineering team members, purchasing team members, and other functions to ensure alignment to goals.* Manage project financials and takes measures to ensure that costs are under budget.* Assess and manage project scope changes, ensuring that appropriate change control procedures are followed and are documented via contract change order.* Identify project risks and develop strategies to mitigate.* Monitor project deliverables to ensure adherence to internal quality standards and compliance with relevant regulations.* Manage customer billing as contractual milestones are successfully achieved.* Maintain project documentation, including plans, progress reports, and meeting minutes.* Conduct post-delivery review and document lessons learned to enhance future project delivery performance._*What you will need: *_* Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline.* Proven experience with supply chain management including vendor selection, the procurement of raw materials and fabricated equipment, price negotiations and contracts.* 3-5 years of purchasing project management experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.* Possess a strong understanding of project management methodologies and be proficient with MS Project or a similar project management tool.* Strong communication, interpersonal and customer facing skills.* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and devise work arounds.* English proficiency is a must. Proficiency in other languages (e.g. French, Spanish, Italian, Korean) is an asset.* Knowledge of mining or marine industry design and manufacturing standards, regulations and best practices is an asset.* Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).* A continuous improvement mindset, take pride in your work, and be highly accountable.* Be curious and enjoy learning.* Ability to travel globally occasionally._*About us:*_Hepburn Engineering is a successful medium-sized Toronto based company that designs, builds and commissions heavy lifting equipment including mine hoists and replenishment-at-sea transfer systems for customers around the world.
