BenefitsOpportunity to work in one of Australias leading camera rental houses located in Disney Studios, Sydney.Opportunity to work with renowned Directors of Photography and other industry professionals.VA Digital Hire will be first company globally to launch Arri Live.Task & ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:Camera Operation:Set up and as required by the production company, operate cameras during live, pre-recorded events and scripted projects ensuring high-quality footage. VA Digital Hire is the first globally to roll out the ARRI LIVE system of camera equipment. This requires a highly skilled camera technician. Requires Intimate knowledge of numerous high end cameras, lenses and associated accessories essential as each job can call for a different operating system. Work closely with the production: understand and translate what is required visually. Ability to read a script and translate what the DOP is looking for.Equipment Management:Test and build camera kits for large scale production.Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of cameras, lenses, tripods, and other related gear. Overseeing the storage, test bays and work areas are kept clean, organised and safe.Liaise with Managing Director to coordinate stocktakes of inventory.Provide hands-on training to clients and staff on how to operate cameras and related equipment.Demonstrate proper cleaning and storage techniques for equipment.Offer ongoing technical support during shoots and guide users in troubleshooting any issues, both in house and on set. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all equipment including Asset Register documentation.Keeping abreast of all new technology coming onto the market.Research, recommend, and purchase new equipment to ensure high production standards.Keep detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and purchases.Manage service schedules to minimise downtime of critical equipment.Organise weekly staff meetings with technical camera crew to assist with smooth operations and build team culture and develop overall morale.Allocate jobs and monitor progress.Oversee crew training needs and development, including test and tag.Ensure crew adheres to daily procedures and camera handling protocols.Training and Support:Provide hands-on training to clients and staff on how to operate cameras and related equipment.Demonstrate proper cleaning and storage techniques for equipment.Offer ongoing technical support during shoots and guide users in troubleshooting any issues, both in house and on set. Qualification & ExperienceMinimum education level Certificate IVMinimum 2 work years experience in similar roleIn depth knowledge of high end equipmentGood grounding in film etiquette on setCalm temperament as dealing with numerous crew members and intricate equipment.
