WTSP/10 Tampa Bay in Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL, seeks a qualified Video Editor/Photojournalist to join our award-winning team. Qualified candidates should be able to edit quality stories quickly for multiple newscasts and online platforms.
You must be a self-starter who is technologically savvy and can work under tight deadlines.
We are looking for individuals who possess a keen artistic eye, a deep understanding of editing and photography techniques, and a passion for storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Use the latest editing and photography tools to tell great stories.
- Produce original content for on-air and digital platforms that evoke emotion and tell compelling stories.
- Use creative production techniques such as graphics and other forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
- Cover breaking, general, sports, weather stories and features
- Produce news stories that are unique and captivating.
- Attend editorial meetings, participate in discussions, and suggest story ideas.
- Operate live units.
- Perform other tasks as required by the News Operations Manager or other News Managers
Requirements
- Must have 1-3 years’ experience as a news editor/photographer.
- Ability to create/edit material for on-air and web, while meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
- Knowledge of Sony cameras and wireless microphones and Dejero live units is necessary.
- Having experience lighting different interviews and the ability to produce videos with good composition.
- Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events
