Cafe Assistant/Barista

We currently serve Barista style coffee, cakes, cream tea, homemade soup, and a variety of food items.

Hours will be Approx 10 – 28 hours a week

Duties includes but is not limited to:

• Baking cakes and preparing food
• Taking payments
• Promoting products
• To complete the opening and closing checklists
• To ensure that the front of house areas are clean, tidy and attractive during opening times
• To place orders for stock to maintain the correct stock levels
• To ensure that all deliveries are checked and put away promptly and correctly
• To ensure waste is kept to a minimum during beverage and food production
• To cash up at the end of shift.
• Complete stock takes when required
• Assist in the completion of paperwork associated with health and safety and food hygiene.
• Be proactive at all times and use initiative, diplomacy and discretion to solve any problems that may arise

What we are looking for:

• Enthusiastic team player
• Level 2/3 Food Hygiene certification (or be willing to work towards)
• Passion for food and drink
• Social media, email and pos knowledge preferable but not essential.
• Creative flare to develop The Den under supervision
• Must be outgoing, able to work on their own and in a small team.
• Experience working in the food industry is preferable

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £8.60-£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
