Dreampilot Films is seeking a talented and creative Video Editor to join our dynamic video production team. As a video editor, you will be responsible for transforming raw footage into polished, engaging, and professional video content that aligns with our clients’ visions and brand objectives. You will work closely with our directors, producers, and creative team to craft compelling narratives through precise editing, color grading, sound design, and motion graphics. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of storytelling, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

1. Review and Organize Footage:

  • Review raw footage and identify the best takes.
  • Organize footage and assets, ensuring they are easily accessible.

2. Video Assembly:

  • Edit and assemble the footage, audio, graphics, and effects to create a polished final product.
  • Sequence clips to tell a coherent story, following scripts or guidelines provided by directors or clients.

3. Audio Integration:

  • Synchronize audio with video clips.
  • Adjust and balance sound levels, and mix music, dialogue, and sound effects.
  • Work with voiceovers, ADR, and soundtracks.

4. Graphics and Effects:

  • Add motion graphics, titles, and visual effects as needed.
  • Use software like Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar to enhance visual appeal.

5. Color Grading and Correction:

  • Apply color correction and color grading to ensure visual consistency and enhance the overall look.

6. Collaborating with Creative Teams:

  • Work closely with directors, producers, clients, and other stakeholders to understand the project’s goals.
  • Implement feedback and revisions efficiently.

7. Exporting and Delivering Final Product:

  • Export the video in various formats as required for different platforms (TV, web, social media, etc.).
  • Ensure the final version is high-quality, meeting the technical specifications required.

8. Archiving and File Management:

  • Maintain organized files for future use, including backups of all project materials.
  • Ensure proper file naming conventions and version control.

9. Staying Updated with Trends:

  • Keep up with the latest editing trends, software, and techniques.
  • Implement new tools and technologies to improve efficiency and creativity.

10. Time Management:

  • Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Estimate and manage the time required for each stage of the editing process.

Qualifications

1. Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Video Editing Software: Strong command of editing tools
  • Familiarity with Motion Graphics & Effects: Experience using tools to create visual effects, titles, and animations
  • Audio Editing: Knowledge of sound design and audio editing programs

3. Experience:

  • Professional Editing Experience: either through internships, freelance work, or full-time jobs.
  • Strong Portfolio: A collection of edited video projects demonstrating creativity, storytelling, and technical proficiency.
  • Experience with Multiple Formats: Familiarity with various video formats and export settings for web, social media, television, and other platforms.

4. Creative Abilities:

  • Storytelling Skills: The ability to construct compelling stories through visuals, pacing, and sequencing.
  • Aesthetic Sensibility: Strong sense of visual composition, lighting, and color grading.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in syncing audio-visual elements, and adjusting color balance and lighting.

5. Soft Skills:

  • Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with directors, producers, clients, and other team members.
  • Time Management: Capability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to take feedback and make revisions as needed.
