This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 6 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.This position will be responsible for overseeing over $2 million in funded research projects, with multiple community partners and funding agencies. These projects focus on promoting youth well-being, with a specific focus on healthy relationships promotion and teen dating violence prevention. This position will also oversee all project graduate research assistants, project casual augmentation staff and the project financial coordinator. As most of our research is conducted in partnership with schools, peak work periods are September-October and May-June each year.Project Management responsibilities including creating clear and attainable project objectives, building the project requirements and managing the constraints of cost, time, scope and quality. Assists with strategic planning and implementation of daily tasks required to execute the business plan. Coordinates the administrative processes of the research project or unit. Full responsibility to hire, discipline, evaluate, terminate and pay staff/faculty in a research project or in laboratory. Manages the daily activities of staff or team of staff.This position manages deadlines, deliverables, and community relationships across multiple funded projects in the area of child and youth health promotion. Main responsibility is to manage a full research cycle of the projects including organization and facilitation of data collection, research ethics applications, grant reporting, data analysis, compilation and writing. In addition, the Project Manager will be responsible for some budgeting and accounts administration. The project manager will also oversee project staff (two AUPE positions; 4-6 graduate research assistants; casual augmentation positions). The project manager will act as a liaison for the Principal Investigator and the research project to help set the tone of the project in terms of relaying accurate information, guiding stakeholders to the appropriate person or resources and working closely with the Project Financial Coordinator to ensure expense claims and other financial reporting is completed. The Project Manager will monitor all project deadlines and deliverables, and be responsible for annual project reporting to the funders. The Project Manager will support collaboration with other related research projects, and ensuring that resources, such as specialized equipment, workspaces, and supplies are maintained and readily available. Success in the role will require judgment and decision making, excellent attention to detail, a high level of accountability, following procedures and guidelines set by the PI, and collaboration with the research team and community partners.*Summary of Key Responsibilities* (job functions include but are not limited to):* Develop and implement project plans.* Manage project stakeholders, communication, team engagement, project schedules, budgets and delivery.* Provide leadership and expertise in relation to planning and project management.* Accountable for management of all aspects of the project life cycle.* Provide clear direction to staff employees in fast changing environment when there is complex and partial information.* Responsible for full managerial discretion, such as hiring, performance management and termination.* Coordinate priorities of the research project to meet deadlines.* Will be required to liaise with senior researchers and leaders on research related issues.* Instruct others in the use of project management tools.* Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating
