Full job description

Your responsibilities will include:

1) Medical Cinematography: Set up make-shift studios in hospital and medical school settings

Set up cinematography (video, sound, and lighting) equipment in makeshift studio in hospital

Capture medical recordings using Sony and Black Magic high-resolution cameras

Capture lectures on lightboard using Open Broadcaster Software (OBS)

Maintain equipment in good working order, keep up-to-date with software upgrades

2) Post-production editing: All work performed in-person and on site to maintain confidentially of patients

Storage on local solid-state drives; must back-up material regularly and maintain SSD in good condition

3) Administrative duties: Assist Co-Ordinator with ordering of equipment (computing and cinematography) from Wits University approved vendors.

4) Safety, storage, transport and maintenance of equipment: Ensure that camera(s) is/are safely mounted on C-arm stands in hospital studio, and that recording equipment will not harm patients or health professionals.

Ensure that all equipment is securely stored, transported safely to hospital studio, and maintained in good working order.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Degree/Diploma/ Certificate in cinematography (eg. BA Motion Picture Medium).
  • Expertise in in Adobe Premier Pro & DaVinci Resolve software.

Skills

Professional/Expert level skills in following domains: (i) Medical cinematography, post-production editing using Adobe Premier Pro, DaVinci Resolve and OBS software. Accountability, Integrity, Reliability, Attention to Detail, Communication, Organizational Understanding, Planning and Organizing / Time Management, Resilience, Teamwork.
