Videographer & Editor (Teacher/ Instructor) :

Nunavut Marketing is seeking a passionate and experienced Videographer Instructor to join our team. The selected candidate will work closely with youth aged between 13-23 years old in Nunavut communities, providing instruction and guidance in filmmaking techniques, equipment operation, and storytelling.

Responsibilities:

Teach youth how to operate cameras, lights, film recorders, and other filmmaking equipment.

Lead workshops and hands-on training sessions on filming music videos, conducting interviews, creating short films, and producing documentaries.

Foster a creative and supportive learning environment where youth can explore their artistic talents and storytelling abilities.

Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to develop curriculum and lesson plans tailored to the needs and interests of the youth participants.

Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to help students improve their technical skills and storytelling capabilities.

Organize film screenings, community events, and showcases to celebrate the work created by youth participants.

Experience/Qualifications:

· Well-rounded generalists with experience in Videography and teaching

· Experience in videography/filmmaking is welcome as long as the candidates are comfortable teaching filmmaking in general (lights, cameras, audio, filming &editing etc.)

· People who are well-versed in t filmmaking technology and the filmmaking process

· Able to instruct middle & high school students

· Must pass a background criminal record check

· Must be comfortable working with youth ages 13 to 18 years of age.

· Experience in editing and using editing software (Preferably Adobe Premier)

· Must be culture ware and sensitive

· Knowledge of the Sony Alpha mirrorless camera family is a plus

Time Commitment & Compensation:

Job Type: Full time 90 days contract

Pay: $1200 per week

Dates: IQALUIT Sept 06, 2024 – Oct 06, 2024 KUGAARUK Oct 06, 2024- Nov 06, 2024

Hours: 40 hours total per week

Location: Iqaluit, Nunavut

Ability to relocate temporality:

  • Iqaluit Nunavut: Relocate 1 week before starting work (Required)
  • Housing and Flight will be provided
