Highlight Video Cinematographer/Next Day Editor

GradsBC is a fast-growing, fast-paced school photography and video business. We are passionate about creating a positive life enhancing experience with our innovative and fresh ways of approaching school photography. We are set on expanding our operations and creating an exciting place for our staff to work and thrive!

We’re looking for a Highlight Videographer/Editor to join our team on a contract basis for the month of June. You’ll be filming and editing highlight reels from graduation events and banquets, working closely with our on-site supervisors, photographers, videographers, and production staff. In order to be successful in this position you’ll have experience in event/wedding cinematography and next day editing. Just as importantly, you will have customer service experience in a fast-paced environment. You’ll know how to capture creative event highlights with Black Magic and Canon cinema camera’s using a variety of stabilizers, lenses and gimbals as well as advanced editing skills to edit your footage for next day delivery. You will be following quality standard lists and shot list expectations to meet and exceed the GradsBC standards.

Key Qualifications

– 3+ years’ professional event cinematography experience.

– 3+ editing experience.

– 1+ years next day editing experience.

– 1+ years working in a fast paced customer service environment.

– Advanced knowledge of cinematography/video equipment, tools, and best practices.- Experience and desire to produce a creative cinematography highlight within a tight deadline.

Key Duties

– Ensuring capture is meeting or exceeding GradsBC quality standards

– Reviewing the event details and participating in pre event team meetings.

– Effectively setting up different cameras on different stabilizers to easily capture different styles of shots throughout the event.

– Ensuring the correct exposure and colour temperature is set and adjusted for multiple lighting scenarios throughout the day.

– Effectively following a shot list template throughout the day.

– Troubleshooting any technical issues.

– Working unobtrusively in a live event environment.

– Multitasking the filming and editing duties throughout the day.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Weekends as needed

  • video editing: 1 year (required)
