Full job description
Red Element Studios is looking for a Video Editor to join our growing production team!
About Us:
We are a full-service production company, producing diverse video content and engaging live events. Our clients include non-profits and Fortune 500 companies alike. Our video production work spans a variety of genres and content types, from brand identity videos and commercials, to documentary-style character profiles. On the live event side, our productions include fundraising galas in hotel ballrooms, fully virtual all-hands meetings, multi-day hybrid events, and more. The two departments work closely together, and the Video Editor role supports both departments.
Through all of these productions, our entire team is consistently committed to high quality work, creative collaboration, and an impactful audience experience.
Our team works on a hybrid model – sometimes from home, and sometimes all together at our office/studio. Our building is located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, surrounded by restaurants, coffee shops and breweries. (In fact, there are 12 breweries within a 4-block radius!) You must be able to work full-time in Seattle for this position.
About You:
You’re a video editor with experience in all types of genres from docu-stye to scripted, with some motion graphic design chops on top! You’re creative, organized, and collaborative. Most of all, at your core you are a storyteller!
You are a problem solver – whether it’s finding the perfect soundbite, collaborating with a producer on the creative vision, or incorporating feedback from stakeholders with grace and empathy – you want every project to be better than the next. As a key member of our creative team, you are constantly looking for inspiration, you contribute in pre-production brainstorms with the producer team, and you are up to date on the latest post production innovations and techniques. You can balance multiple projects at once, and are obsessed with keeping media and project files organized.
These are the must haves:
- Minimum of 2 years video editing experience in a professional capacity with an array of samples of work
- Expertise with Adobe Premiere and Adobe Creative Suite
- Advanced knowledge of video editing techniques
- Working knowledge of motion graphic design
- Strong skills in media management and archiving
- Basic knowledge of color grading
- Knowledge of third party plug-ins, audio file formats, and different camera platforms and codecs
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills & ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and maintain & improve post production workflow processes
- Ability to think creatively, problem solve, assess briefs and scripts, and make suggestions to producer
These are the nice to haves:
- Advanced motion graphic design (this is a huge plus!)
- Advanced color grading skills (in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve)
- Other skills like script writing, directing, camera operation, grip experience, etc. Tell us what you’ve got!
Please attach a PDF resume with application.
