Overview

We are seeking to hire a full-time mid-level editor to join our growing video production company

Working in partnership with your fellow creatives and producers, you will be able to work both autonomously and collaboratively. You will also support and line manager a junior editor ensuring our commitment to creative excellence is maintained.

You will have a clear passion for editing and storytelling, backed by a strong breadth and depth of experience in this arena and motivated to champion BearJam’s philosophy to exceed both our own and the client’s creative expectations. A desire to be part of the wider creative process including ideation and pre-production input is highly encouraged and expected within our small but rapidly growing team.

Objectives of the role

  • Best-in-class video editing for our clients
  • Championing and inspiring new creative approaches to video editing and content in general
  • Managing and developing the junior editor to deliver excellent projects creatively and in a timely manner

Key Responsibilities

  • Editing high-quality video content for a range of purposes and deliverables such as: branded content, social media content and brand films
  • Fully owning project editing elements including communication, planning, foresight & proactive management of challenges
  • Evaluating new AI tools as they come to market and how we can utilise them to streamline our post production processes
  • Collaborating with the wider team, including creatives, producers, clients and directors
  • Receiving, managing & executing feedback both client and internal
  • Where required, contributing to original ideas and developing concepts
  • Creating standout content for our own Social Media & website case studies showing best practices
  • Sitting in on and contributing to client calls when the need arises
  • Performing basic colour grading as and when required
  • Delegating work to junior members of the team
  • Overseeing, QC’ing and sense checking Junior editor’s project work and ensuring they also deliver high quality projects
  • SFX selection and sound editing assets for delivery
  • Adapting and rolling out campaign assets across multiple social media & broadcast formats as required
  • Downloading, uploading, logging & maintenance of AV assets, via Synology
  • Packaging and delivering projects

Required

  • High levels of initiative, desire & ability to work autonomously to deliver on objectives & responsibilities
  • Natural organisational ability and aptitude to multitask, agile and quick to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work effectively and easily with a variety of people and personalities for best outcomes
  • Thrive in an ever-changing often high pressure environment, remaining calm, effective, measured
  • Strong creative eye and passion for editing & delivering powerful video content
  • 3+ years editor experience in video content editing
  • Previous experience managing is preferred but not essential
  • Fluent English with excellent, articulate written and verbal communication skills
  • Consistent, positive, can-do attitude and ability to set and communicate clear expectations to the team & clients
  • Proven track record of success editing complex video projects
  • A portfolio showcasing previous work and demonstrating proficiency in video editing

Preferred

  • Excellent skills and experience in Adobe PremierePro and knowledge of Adobe After Effects
  • Confident using Mac hardware and software
  • Knowledge and experience in using the Adobe Suite to create simple 2D graphic assets
  • Understanding of sound / audio editing
  • Understanding and ability to colour grade
  • General multimedia skills such as video conversion
  • Confident in online editing and delivering to client specs
  • Working knowledge of film production, digital media, or a related field
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices for video content distribution
