Summary:
As a Video Editor on Surfline’s Content team, you will play a pivotal role in creating, organizing, and editing dynamic videos. This person is also responsible for producing and distributing live and edited video using various platforms, programs, and techniques. You will report to our Director of Video Programming and will work closely with our content, marketing, and forecast teams. The ideal candidate needs strong attention to detail, ability to receive and implement feedback, the ability to prioritize tasks based on a content calendar, and strong proficiency in video editing tools and software such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Media Encoder.
Under Surfline’s “Work from Anywhere” policy, this position may be performed on a full-time remote basis from a variety of locations in the US, or from the Huntington Beach, CA headquarters.
What You’ll Do:
- Edit videos to targeted lengths and specifications.
- Work and consult with Director of Brand and broader Content team to outline vision for production.
- Organize raw and edit video files.
- Export videos for distribution across all brand channels.
- Build storyboards, animatics, pre-visualization, post-visualization, and live action.
- Incorporate and prepare VFX shots in edit for internal and client approvals.
- Adjust formats and file sizes as needed.
- Shoot video and produce content as necessary.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 2-3 years of video editing and post-production experience.
- Hands-on and in-the-field experience.
- Proficient in video editing tools and software – Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Media Encoder, etc.
- Proficient with 3D composition and special effects tools and software.
- Knowledge of advanced file formats, color space, time codes, and editing software.
- Ability to translate ideas into complete projects.
- Understanding of digital trends and editing principles.
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for and knowledge of surfing (and all the other ways we play in the ocean).

Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is: $60,000 – $75,000. In accordance with applicable state laws, the range provided is Surfline’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
