Pirate Actor-Education Team

Job Description:

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Pirate Actor to join our team and provide fun and memorable experiences for our guests. As a Pirate Actor, you will be responsible for engaging and entertaining audiences of all ages through immersive theming with our animals and other performers. This is a fun and flexible opportunity, perfect for earning extra cash! The maximum working hours per week will be 2-5 hours, with an hourly rate of $30. Also assist on the Education Team when you are not scheduled as a Pirate, at $12 an hour.

Requirements:

• Weekend availability: You must be available for at least 2/3 shows per week. Our shows are hosted on Fridays at 5:00 pm, Saturdays at 4:00 pm, and Sundays at 1:00 pm.
• Reliable transportation: You must have reliable transportation and arrive 20-30 minutes prior to show start.
• Comfortable with audiences: You should be prepared to perform in front of audiences of up to 50-70 guests of all ages.
• Physicality: You should be physically capable of performing an active and physically demanding show for 30-45 minutes.
• Attitude: You should have a positive demeanor, good interpersonal communication, and be personable with fellow employees and guests.

Preferred, but not required:

• Background in acting and/or improv.
• Willingness and ability to learn staged combat routines.
• Public speaking experience, specifically for larger crowds.
• Desire to assist in the writing process for creating new shows and skits.

Responsibilities:

• Attend meetings, rehearsals, and memorize scripts.
• Arrive on time for costuming (20-30 minutes before show start).
• Positively engage with the audience to create both a fun and educational experience.
• Attend meet and greets with guests.
• Participate in birthday parties and other private events as needed.
• Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor, especially with children.
