Do you love bringing a sparkle to someone’s eyes, making them feel like a million bucks, and helping them grow in their confidence & creativity? Want to spend your summer leading drama games, singing & dancing, making crafts, and overseeing fun activities like Talent Show and Pajama Day?

We are hiring for Camp Instructors, Camp Admin, and Site Directors.

We are looking for high energy & kind individuals who love kids and love teaching the performing arts (Theatre, Acting, Improv, Dance, etc!) OR Education Majors / School Teachers who can bring their classroom experience into our camps & we’ll teach you how to direct a theatre camp show!

Forefront Arts is looking for friendly & enthusiastic individuals to join our summer camp team at locations throughout metro-Atlanta to lead week-long camps for kids & teens in Musical Theatre, Vocal Performance, Improv, Acting, or Filmmaking!

We also have several part time or full time positions available for the 2024-2025 school year teaching in preschools, after-school programs, and our conservatory music, theatre, and dance programs!

Qualifications:

~Must have experience teaching/directing kids ages 4-14 and excellent classroom management skills.

~Must be patient & kind, flexible when needed, and able to work by yourself or with others.

~Must be passionate about boosting kids’ confidence & creativity through the arts and giving them an amazing drama camp experience!

~Must have great skills as an oral & written communicator. At times you may need to reply to a parent email, edit a camp script, or do a curtain speech before the camp show.

~Must be responsive to communication from your manager & co-workers (we expect 24 hrs response time to work emails during the work week, confirmation of texts received, etc)

~Must be able to competently teach Acting, Musical Theatre, and/or Improv at a minimum elementary level.

~Must have your own reliable car and be able to teach at the various Forefront camp locations throughout metro Atlanta (our camps this year are in Buckhead, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Lilburn, Johns Creek, Duluth, Alpharetta, Woodstock, Canton, Roswell, and Tucker. You may be scheduled to work at any of these locations on a weekly basis throughout the summer depending on the camper #’s and staff needs each week. We aim to keep instructors at the same location for the most part, which usually coincides with locations closest to your home, but some weeks may require flexibility to work at other camp locations).

~A degree in Education / Theatre / Performing Arts / Music / Dance or substantial professional performance experience is preferred, OR instructor should be in school currently pursuing a degree and career in Education or the Arts, OR instructor should demonstrate multiple years of experience working with kids in another educational capacity.

~Must provide a background check, and sign a non-solicitation/non-disclosure agreement upon joining our team.

~Must be available to attend our mandatory staff training Tues – Thurs, 5/21-5/23, 9am-3 pm each day.

ABOUT US:

~Forefront Arts is a mobile children’s theatre and performing arts studio serving ages 3-18. We have over 20 locations throughout metro ATL at schools, rec centers, preschools, and churches, as well as a thriving private lessons program. We offer dance & theatre classes, youth show choirs, a competition team, and theatre performances troupes that produce full-scale shows. Each season we produce over 15 full-scale shows, serve over 1,200 families in our camps & classes, and make a difference one child at a time.

~Our summer camp season runs for 11 weeks, May 28 – August 9. Mandatory summer staff training will be May 21-23. Summer camp instructors and admin staff are contracted by the week, based upon your availability, and we can work around other gigs or schedule commitments you already have. We can hire staff for a couple of weeks throughout the summer, or offer up to 11 weeks of full-time work. Once an instructor or admin staff is contracted & confirmed for that week, we do expect you to honor that commitment!

~Schoolyear Teaching Artists can work part time or full time August – May at our various preschools, homeschool groups, afterschool programs, and our conservatory locations teaching classes in Acting, Improv, Dance, Music, Playwriting, Musical Theatre, etc, directing shows, offering private lessons, etc.

Pay: $450.00 – $800.00 per week

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
