Communications
invites applications for a 9-month tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor-Film/TV Production.
This position will begin August 2024.

The Film/TV Production Track in the Mass Communications program is a rapidly growing program
that offers a variety of courses in production, post-production, writing, and producing. In addition, the program offers experiential
learning opportunities to various media centers around the country. The program seeks to find a dynamic colleague who can help further grow
and develop the program

Nashville is a vibrant city with a growing media industry. It has been listed as an “it” city
for several years with many cultural and entertainment opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

A terminal
degree (Ph.D. or M.F. A.) and a strong production background are required.
The preferred candidate will have a minimum of five years of
professional media experience in the film, entertainment television, music video, commercial, and corporate media industry with a record of
juried screenings or media credits. In addition, candidates should have a minimum of three years of teaching experience at the undergraduate
level.

Candidates should be knowledgeable about and skilled at all areas of narrative filmmaking and single-camera production
(writing, pre-production, production, and post-production). Candidates should have experience with professional editing software (AVID Media
Composer and Premiere) and digital cameras. Candidates with extensive post-production experience, particularly Adobe After Effects, DaVinci
Resolve, as well as other color correction, audio post-production, and motion picture production techniques
preferred.
